AION EMS Zeus v14.8.2 focuses on a cleaner Configuration experience, more flexible Heat Pump mapping, and improved Viessmann Vitocal support.
π₯ Adaptive Heat Pump Mapping
Heat Pump configuration is now simpler by default while still supporting advanced systems with separate circuit measurements.
Simple setup
Heat Pumps that only provide whole-unit measurements can use the normal top-level mappings without configuring separate Heating and DHW measurements.
Separate Heating / DHW measurements
A new option allows Zeus to expose separate circuit mappings when available.
Space Heating

Domestic Hot Water

Cooling
Cooling measurements can be enabled independently and support:
- Electrical Power
- Electrical Energy
- Optional Thermal Power
- Optional Thermal Energy
Existing Heat Pump configurations remain migration-safe. Ambiguous legacy energy mappings are preserved without incorrectly classifying them as electrical or thermal energy.
π₯οΈ Configuration UX Cleanup
The Device Manager has been significantly simplified.
- Cleaner Device Identity section
- Compact Primary Measurements section
- Optional evidence moved behind an expander
- Advanced Heat Pump mappings collapsed by default
- Smart Control & Safety only shown when relevant
- Cleaner registered-device cards
- Raw entity mappings and technical details moved into diagnostics
- Better energy counter semantics for daily vs lifetime sensors
The goal is a simpler default view without removing advanced capabilities.
π©πͺ Viessmann Vitocal Improvements
Based on Martinβs real-world testing:
- Improved compressor-state detection
- Preference for proper binary compressor status entities when available
- Better operating-mode and system/activity state handling
- Support for separate Heating and DHW electrical/thermal measurements
- Improved Heat Pump DHW presentation in Kiosk Mode when no separate external water heater is registered
π Kiosk / Command Center
For Heat Pumps that provide DHW directly and have no separate water-heater device, DHW information is now integrated more naturally into the Heat Pump area.
Installations with a separate external water heater, such as my-PV ELWA, keep the existing dedicated Water Heater panel unchanged.
π± Home Assistant Sidebar
The old sidebar/panel name:
AION EMS Energy Flow
has been corrected to:
AION EMS Zeus
The existing panel path remains unchanged.
β‘ Smart Control
The validated ELWA Smart Control from v14.8.x remains unchanged.
This includes:
- Dynamic Solar power modulation
- Closed-loop export regulation
- Configurable export reserve
- 30-second active keepalive
- Boiler safety/hysteresis
- Element temperature taper
- Supervised execution
- Control ownership
- 18-point readiness validation
- Emergency Stop
Version: v14.8.2
Release channel: Stable
Thanks to everyone testing Zeus on real installations and providing detailed feedback. Special thanks to Martin for the continued Viessmann Vitocal testing and Heat Pump configuration feedback.
