AION EMS Zeus v14.8.1 improves the Heat Pump configuration model with proper circuit-specific electrical and thermal measurements.

This update is based on real-world testing and feedback from different Heat Pump installations, including Viessmann Vitocal and Buderus systems.

🔥 Heat Pump Circuit Mapping v2

Heat Pump configuration is now separated into clear measurement groups.

Whole Heat Pump / Combined — Optional

For Heat Pumps that provide aggregate production measurements:

  • Combined Thermal Power
  • Combined Thermal Energy

These fields are optional. They do not need to be duplicated when separate Heating and DHW measurements are available.

🏠 Space Heating

Space Heating can now independently map:

  • Electrical Power
  • Thermal Power
  • Electrical Energy
  • Thermal Energy

Existing heating circuit temperature and operating evidence remains available.

🚿 Domestic Hot Water

DHW can now independently map:

  • Electrical Power
  • Thermal Power
  • Electrical Energy
  • Thermal Energy
  • DHW Temperature
  • DHW Target Temperature

This provides a much cleaner foundation for Heat Pumps that expose separate Heating and DHW measurements.

❄️ Cooling

Cooling now supports:

  • Electrical Power
  • Electrical Energy
  • Optional Thermal Power
  • Optional Thermal Energy

Not every Heat Pump exposes thermal cooling measurements, so these remain optional.

🔄 Safe Migration for Existing Heat Pumps

Existing Zeus Heat Pump configurations are preserved.

Older generic Heating, DHW and Cooling energy mappings are not automatically assumed to be electrical or thermal energy.

Instead, existing ambiguous mappings are preserved as:

Legacy / Unclassified Energy Mappings

This prevents Zeus from silently assigning the wrong physical meaning to an existing sensor.

The legacy section is only displayed when an upgraded installation actually contains legacy mappings. New Heat Pump configurations therefore get the clean circuit-specific interface without unnecessary migration fields.

🧠 Foundation for Circuit-Specific Intelligence

The new data structure prepares Zeus for future circuit-specific intelligence such as:

  • Heating COP
  • DHW COP
  • Separate electrical vs thermal energy statistics
  • Improved operating-mode analysis

Zeus does not calculate these from ambiguous legacy mappings. Explicitly mapped electrical and thermal evidence will remain authoritative.

🇩🇪 Viessmann Vitocal

The new structure is particularly useful for Heat Pumps such as the Viessmann Vitocal that expose separate Heating and DHW measurements.

Vitocal users can now map their electrical and thermal Power/Energy entities directly to the corresponding Heating and DHW circuits instead of duplicating values into generic Heat Pump fields.

⚡ Smart Control

The validated Zeus Smart Control and my-PV ELWA controller from v14.8.0 remain unchanged.

This includes:

  • Dynamic Solar power modulation
  • Closed-loop grid-export regulation
  • Configurable export reserve
  • Active ELWA keepalive
  • Temperature taper
  • Boiler safety/hysteresis
  • Supervised execution
  • 18-point readiness validation
  • Control ownership
  • Emergency Stop

Important

All new Heat Pump circuit measurement fields are optional.

Zeus remains manufacturer-independent and uses the evidence actually provided by each Heat Pump installation.
